Kevin and I have been married for 31 years. We were both born and raised in Miami, Oklahoma and enjoyed growing up in a close-knit community. (Saying that… we did not know each other until we were in college.) When we were married it was a small church wedding with 50 of our closest family and friends. My childhood pastor married us, my uncle took the pictures, Kevin’s aunt did the flowers, and my sweet mom saved up $400 for the cake, nuts, and punch for the reception! My memories of that day will always be special and thinking of each person that played a part in my big day will always bring a smile to my face and tears to my eyes.

Kevin and I quickly started our family and before long we were raising 4 beautiful and energetic kids. My life was an adventure that involved ball games, birthday parties, field trips, and eventually graduations, weddings, and grandbabies! It was during this time that I went back to work and began a career in the corporate world and loving every minute of this new adventure!

In 2017 while on a business trip I got extremely ill. I spent the next 3 days dizzy, sick to my stomach, and fatigued to the point of not being able to get out of bed. While dealing with the symptoms and numerous doctor visits I was finally diagnosed…. “Dee, you are pregnant!”  Talk about a shock! At 47 years old we were starting a new adventure!  The whole way of thinking about my life changed. I was planning on working in the corporate world until I was ready to retire, but now I was experiencing a “pinch”. This is what I call it when something happens in life that makes you reevaluate what you are doing. Believe me, having a baby at 47 will cause you to rethink a lot of things! I knew I wanted this little one to experience a childhood with great memories of family being together. I started to think about what it would look like to work for myself.

I have always had an entrepreneur spirit and the “little pinch” who was born on May 20, 2018, was just the thing to catapult me into a new adventure as the owner of my own business!

WHY A BARTENDING AND MOBILE BAR CO. ?

I have always had a love for parties and helping couples celebrate their special days! Just as the memories of my wedding are still so sweet to me, I love helping others make wonderful memories.  I love creating, decorating, floral design, and menu planning and I also enjoy mixology and drink styling! I was asked by friends and family to plan and direct engagement parties, showers, weddings and many more type of special events. I knew I wanted to be involved in the event industry in some capacity.

I am not a bartender by profession, but I am a professional product developer and consultant who loves to build relationships and take concepts and make them better. So when I started to research professional bartending and this new craze of mobile bars that were popping up in the UK and coastal states, this sparked my interest! I am not much of a drinker and have always had a healthy fear of alcohol after seeing the destructive side of what too much alcohol can do. I began to think about how to build a bartending company that specializes in weddings and events that want a bar, but not a bunch of drunks! Hmm…an anti- bartending company…. No, but a bartending company that cares!

Okie Soirée Mobile Bar Co. was born! I created a company to help people celebrate the special moments and events in their life by providing charming mobile bars and exceptional bartending service with the safety of our guest at the forefront of what I do. I operate my company with professionalism, but more importantly I build relationships with those I work with!

Okie Soirée Mobile Bar Co. continues to grow, and I am always looking for ways to create and evolve with trends while incorporating my own style along the way. I recently was able to quit my corporate job and I am now working Okie Soirée and enjoying every day with my family, my sweet baby girl, and my precious couples, and venue friends! I am so blessed and enjoying this new adventure!
